League History - 2011 Season

2011's President's Message

Welcome and thank you for visiting our Website! The Whitby Men's Slo-Pitch League is now in its 33rd season of play. After celebrating our 30th anniversary we hope that the next 30 years are filled with as much fun and friendly competition as the last.

The league began in 1979 with 4 teams and has now grown to a healthy 12 teams with over 180 players from all over Durham Region. WMSPL is a recreational Slo-Pitch League for men aged 27 years and older. Slo-Pitch allows for athletes of all ages and abilities to stay physically fit while also enjoying the social aspects of the game.

The Town of Whitby has a long standing reputation of supporting competitive and recreational team sports for all ages. The WMSPL is proud to be a part of that tradition.

I would like to welcome back our returning players and welcome to all new players joining us for this exciting 2011 season. Let's play ball!!

Joey Pilkey
